I’m Nathan Peters, the community manager at Raven. You might have seen me on the boards as Weapon 8. By this time you know how badass the team here at Raven has made Wolverine, from the attitude down to his ferocity. But there are points in the game where it will take a little more than adamantium to progress.
Some of the puzzles you will encounter are fairly simple. For example, shortly after the adamantium is bonded to Logan’s skeleton and he makes his escape, he finds out that his powers have been suppressed as an insurance policy against him. Now he’s vulnerable, and head-on confrontation will certainly end badly. Logan avoids guards whenever possible, trying to make it to a scientist who wants to help him. He comes across a door and a power cell to turn it on. He gets through, but you realize he needs yet another cell to power a lift in the next room. He’s got two things to power on, but only one cell to work with. The solution is straightforward, but you may find yourself scratching your head for a moment.
One of the more clever puzzles lies within one of the game’s unique levels, and it has multiple stages. The first part requires Wolverine to get to a power cell, which turns on a conveyor mechanism. Once that is going, he needs to find a way through a laser net that disintegrates anything not authorized to pass through. Your reward for getting past the puzzle? Your first fight with a Sentinel prototype.
Throughout the game, Wolverine will encounter small puzzles like these, not only to give you a more varied experience, but they serve to tone down the action for a moment and let your thumbs relax. But before you can say “what’s next?” it will throw you right back into a new challenge where you can do what Wolverine does best.

Inside Look: Puzzles

I loved the puzzles in the game. like the comment above they made the game more enjoyable for me.

I don’t mind the “hunt and fetch” puzzles, nor the hidden areas, they’re great. The “twitch puzzles”, where you have to time leaps just right, moving platforms that give you a limited window of opportunity to use them (and cussing the camera angle) - these detract from enjoyment of the game.

Help??? Im stuck on a particular part of this game. Its not too far in I think. Ive escaped fromthe undeground lab. Ive entered a courtyard where if I turn a wheel three tall statues come out. I have already broken the wood that stops two of them from moveing out. You have limited time to get across. I get to the last statue but it moves in before I can jump across. Can any of you gamers give me a hint how to do it??

FRUSTERATED!!!??? I dont see anyone to lunge to across a gap… Im stumped here too, Ive moved all 4 statues into their spots but cant find a way to get to the back of the courtyard to the top to move on with the game… Any tips>?

Not a big fan of puzzles but some of the ones are cool, I just don’t like it when they are so hard that it takes a long time to figure them out or are almost impossible that you fail several times. I want to be challenged but I prefer more direct challenges.

Yeah when the puzzles are so difficult that you get frustrated and want to throw your controller it takes away from the fun of the game. That type of frustration is usually only caused when there is zero room for error and you have to get it perfect to solve the puzzle.

Agree! puzzles requiring clever solutions are fantastic. ones that require button mashing or impeccable timing are just plain irritating.

I’ve only played it for a few hours, but the puzzles never felt thought provoking, just run from here to there get this run back there… More of a cheap way to add length to the game, really…
It is commonly known as the Metroid Syndrome…

I love Metroid, so I dunno about that phrase, but I agree with your take on the puzzles 100%.

I’ve played alot of games that involves puzzles, but I can’t wait to play this 1 since it has more combat.

hey guys, help me out. how do i power the lift? i cant get the power cell to power it up. as i read above, i need to power it up by the same cell that was required to power the previous door. but how?

I have to say I hated the tombraider-inspired puzzles. i wanted less thinking and more slashing/dismembering/disemboweling.
